Leadership Changes

 

Alaska: Sen. President Peter Micciche is not running for re-election in 2022.

 

Arizona: Sen. President Karen Fann and Sen. Majority Leader Rick Gray are retiring from the legislature in 2022.

 

Arkansas: Sen. Bart Hester is Sen. President Pro Tem-elect for the 2023 legislative session..

 

California: Sen. Mike McGuire was selected as the new Majority Leader in January 2022.

 

Colorado: Sen. Majority Leader Stephen Fenberg was selected as the new Sen. President in February 2022. Sen. Dominick Moreno is the new Majority Leader.

 

Florida: Sen. Kathleen Passidomo has been selected as Sen. President beginning in the 2023 legislative session. Sen. President Pro Tempore Aaron Bean is running for the U.S. House of Representatives.

 

Georgia: Sen. President Pro Tempore Butch Miller lost his primary bid for Lt. Governor.

 

Michigan: Sen. Majority Leader Mike Shirkey is term limited. His term ends on Jan. 1, 2023.

 

Minnesota: Sen. President Pro Tempore David Tomassoni is retiring from the legislature in 2022.

 

Missouri: Sen. President Pro Tempore Dave Schatz, who is term limited, is running for the U.S. Senate.

 

Montana: Sen. President Mark Blasdel is term limited. His term ends on Jan. 2, 2023.

 

Nebraska: Speaker of the Senate Mike Hilgers  won the Republican nomination for state Attorney General.

 

Nevada: Sen. President Pro Tempore Mo Denis is term limited effective Nov. 9, 2022.

 

New Hampshire: Sen. President Chuck Morse is running for the U.S. Senate.

 

North Carolina: Sen. Majority Leader Kathy Harrington  is retiring from the legislature in 2022.

 

North Dakota: Sen. Majority Leader Rich Wardner is retiring from the legislature in 2022.

 

Oregon: Sen. President Peter Courtney is retiring from the legislature in 2022.

 

Pennsylvania: Sen. President Pro Tempore Jake Corman ended his run for Governor.

 

Vermont: Sen. President Pro Tempore Becca Balint is running for the U.S. House of Representatives.

 

Wyoming: Sen. President Dan Dockstader is running for Secretary of State.
