Leadership Changes

 

 

Arizona: Sen. President Karen Fann announced that she’s not seeking reelection in 2022.

Arkansas: Sen. Bart Hester is Senate President Pro Tem-elect for the 2023 legislative session. He will replace current Senate President Pro Tem Jimmy Hickey, Jr.

California: Sen. Mike McGuire was selected as the new Majority Leader in January 2022. He replaced Sen. Robert Hertzberg.

Colorado: Senator Majority Leader Stephen Fenberg was selected as the new Senate President, replacing Sen. Leroy Garcia who resigned in February to take a position at the Pentagon. Sen. Dominick Moreno is the new Majority Leader.

 

 

Florida: Sen. Kathleen Passidomo has been selected as Senate President beginning in the 2023 legislative session. Current Senate President Wilton Simpson is term limited and running for state Agriculture Commissioner.

Leadership Changes

Arizona: Sen. President Karen Fann announced that she’s not seeking reelection in 2022.

Arkansas: Sen. Bart Hester is Senate President Pro Tem-elect for the 2023 legislative session. He will replace current Senate President Pro Tem Jimmy Hickey, Jr.

California: Sen. Mike McGuire was selected as the new Majority Leader in January 2022. He replaced Sen. Robert Hertzberg.

Colorado: Senator Majority Leader Stephen Fenberg was selected as the new Senate President, replacing Sen. Leroy Garcia who resigned in February to take a position at the Pentagon. Sen. Dominick Moreno is the new Majority Leader.

Florida: Sen. Kathleen Passidomo has been selected as Senate President beginning in the 2023 legislative session. Current Senate President Wilton Simpson is term limited and running for state Agriculture Commissioner.

Georgia: Senate President Pro Tempore Butch Miller is running for Lt. Governor.

Michigan: Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey is term limited. His term ends on Jan. 1, 2023.

Minnesota: Senate President Pro Tempore David Tomassoni has announced his retirement from the legislature in 2022.

Missouri: Senate President Pro Tempore Dave Schatz, who is term limited, is running for the U.S. Senate.

Montana: Senate President Mark Blasdel is term limited. His term ends on Jan. 2, 2023.

Nebraska: Speaker of the Senate Mike Hilgers is running for state Attorney General.

New Hampshire: Senate President Chuck Morse is running for the U.S. Senate.

North Carolina: Senate Majority Leader Kathy Harrington has announced her retirement from the legislature in 2022.

North Dakota: Senate Majority Leader Rich Wardner is retiring from the legislature in 2022.

Oregon: Senate President Peter Courtney is retiring from the legislature in 2022.

Pennsylvania: Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman is running for Governor.

Vermont: Senate President Pro Tempore Becca Balint is running for the U.S. House of Representatives.
